"WORTH" recycled art, mixed media wall sculpture by Richard Schemmerer.

What are we worth to eachother and what do we give worth to in a world more and more interdependent and also forced to chose sides over idiologies and freedom as the forces of suppression and fascism are challenging what a human life is worth.

Worth is measured by recognition of value as in beauty or craftsmanship, fragility, rarity, talent, tradability but underneath its worth is much greater once on object is removed from the market place of artificial appreciation. The need to turn everything into a commodity has robbed us of our ability to appreciate just for appreciations sake which we now confuse with appraisal and approval.

Art was and still is revolutionary in its disregard for the need of the fit a niche. Hopefully it still makes us feel uncomfortable enough to be confronted with our own personal value judgments and the worth we give those

We altered earth since the beginning of time in an effort to feel safe to be in charge to be able to survive to prosper and now to conquer. In this process we archive unheard of of progress but with very step towards betterment comes a new challenge and this time and age is asking us as a whole as a worldwide interconnected humanity to reach out and give Nature a hand now that we have become the gods we dreamed off. It is now time to show that we deserve such a label even if it is just philosophically. we all know that there is a higher version a higher level of ourselves within ourselves.
